Wellness and Life Stages

The best way for you to ensure your pet’s long-term health and well-being is through routine wellness exams. The frequency of these visits is dependent on which life stage your pet is in. For puppies and kittens, it is best if they are seen once a month in order for your veterinarian to monitor their rapid growth and development, along with administering initial vaccines and ensuring their teeth are developing without issues. Deworming & Flea/Tick Prevention

An important part of your pet’s wellness and health includes preventative care, including protecting them from intestinal parasites and virus-spreading insects, like fleas and ticks. In order for our veterinarians to prescribe these preventative medications we need to have an on-going patient/vet relationship, in the form of annual exams. If you are unsure if your pet is up-to-date with an annual exam, then please call the clinic and our customer care team would be happy to assist you. Typically we recommend deworming your pet every 6-12 months depending on lifestyle. As for flea/tick prevention, our recommendation is to have your pets covered April to October, with March and November being dependent on temperature. Give the clinic a call to request a refill of medication, or book an annual exam if your pet hasn’t had a vet appointment with one of our veterinarians in over a year. Read more here for more information about ticks and how to properly protect your pet against these virus-spreading insects.

Medical

We are equipped to handle a wide variety of medical conditions, including emergencies. After an initial examination our veterinarians will recommend proceeding with one of the many diagnostic procedures we preform in-house. This allows us to either give you immediate answers and/or rule out certain illnesses, all with the goal of being able to treat your pet faster. Read more about the medical services we offer.

Diagnostic

The next steps, after an initial medical assessment with our veterinarians, is determining which diagnostic tests to proceed with, such as blood work, urine tests, radiography (x-rays), endoscopy (internal scoping), ultrasound, or biopsy. The decision to pursue diagnostic testing is dependent on your pet’s condition and our veterinarians will ensure to have an elaborate discussion with you in order to prioritize your pet’s recovery. Surgical Services

Our veterinarians provide many surgical services at our clinic, ranging from routine to advanced procedures. Because we want to ensure that our patients receive the best possible outcome, we occasionally refer them to specialists (board-certified veterinary surgeons) to perform complex procedures, assisting our clients and patients throughout the referral stage, along with recovery and follow-up care. Dentistry

Your pet’s overall health greatly depends on the health of their teeth and gums. Periodontal disease is the most common ailment diagnosed in companion animals. Left untreated, dental disease causes unnecessary pain and can lead to serious health conditions throughout your pet’s body. In most cases periodontal disease is preventable with proactive dental care. Read more about the dentistry services we offer.

Anesthesia

Many surgical and dental procedures will require your pet to be given a general anesthetic which renders them unconscious for the duration of the surgery. The specific anesthetic protocol we use will be individually tailored to each patient’s age, health status, weight, and previous health and anesthetic history. In some cases, we will recommend preanesthetic lab testing to determine the function of organs and systems that can affect or be affected by anesthesia. Equine Services

One of our veterinarians specializes in equine care, which means we can provide your horse with an annual diagnostic and wellness checkup or an exam for any specific issues your horse may be experiencing. This will help reassure you that your horse is healthy or help us detect hidden diseases or conditions early; along with diagnosing and treating the illness or injury. End of Life Care

Throughout your pet’s life, your veterinarian has been a key partner with you in ensuring their well-being. As the end of life approaches, this relationship becomes especially poignant. Your veterinarian can help you by providing objective measures of your pet’s physical condition and how it may affect their quality of life. Ultimately, however, you are the best judge of the quality of your pet’s daily life. Read more about end of life care for your pet.

Additional Services

Continued care for your pet throughout it’s life is our top priority. A few of the additional services we provide include referrals to specialists, nutrition services, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, along with pain management and control. Read more about the additional services we offer.
