  • Frunevetmab is a formulation of feline anti-nerve growth factor antibodies used to control osteoarthritis pain in cats. This medication is given by an injection under the skin, usually at the veterinary clinic.

  • Tamsulosin is a medication used as a lower urinary tract relaxant to treat functional urinary obstructions in cats and dogs. It has also been used to treat small obstructive urinary stones in cats. Tamsulosin comes in capsule form; capsules should not be crushed or compounded into liquid.

  • Tacrolimus topical is an immunosuppressive agent used to treat and control inflammation and itching of the skin caused by immune-mediated disorders and allergic skin conditions in cats and dogs. Tacrolimus topical comes in an ointment that is applied directly onto the skin.

  • Proparacaine ophthalmic is a topical anesthetic (numbing agent) used in the eyes before diagnostic procedures and as an adjunctive anesthetic for eye surgeries in cats, dogs, and other animals. This medication is used off label in veterinary medicine and comes in a liquid drop form.

  • Pramoxine topical (Comfort; Micro-Pearls Advantage Dermal-Soothe®; Pramox-1®; Relief®, others) is a topical anesthetic (numbing agent) used to reduce pain and itching temporarily in cats, dogs, and other animals. It comes in a variety of forms that are applied directly to the skin.

  • Atovaquone (brand names: Mepron, Malanil, Wellvone) is a drug used to treat infections caused by protozoa (single-celled organisms that cause disease). It is often combined with other drugs to treat specific infections.

  • Oxybutynin is a medication used to help stop bladder spasms that cause urine leakage (refractory urinary incontinence) in cats and dogs. This medication is used off-label in veterinary medicine. Oxybutynin comes in several oral formulations.

  • Ceftriaxone is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat certain serious susceptible bacterial infections in cats, dogs, rabbits, and other animals. This medication is used off-label in veterinary medicine. Ceftriaxone comes in an injectable form.

  • Molnupiravir is an antiviral used to treat feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) in cats. This medication is used off label in veterinary medicine. Molnupiravir comes in oral capsule form.

  • Ceftiofur crystalline free acid (Excede®) is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections in horses, cattle, swine, rabbits, birds, and other animals. There are various formulations of this medication (HCl, sodium, CFA). Ceftiofur crystalline free acid comes in an injectable form. Do not inject into a vein or artery – sudden death may occur.
