Julia Jackson

Clinic Owner/ Veterinarian

Dr. Julia Jackson grew up in Ontario and obtained her DVM from the Ontario Veterinary College.  She arrived in Revelstoke in 1998 to serve as the town’s first residing veterinarian. In 2010, after their two children were in school, Julia and her husband purchased what became the Revelstoke Veterinary Clinic. Julia is proud to have transformed the clinic from a part-time satellite practice into a full service 5 days-a-week clinic offering veterinary care of the highest standard.

Revelstoke’s authentic small-town feel, it’s solid, caring community, and the limitless opportunities to mountain climb and ski are what brought Julia to Revelstoke.  She has strived to maintain the small-town values of familiarity, kindness and accessibility-to-all while at the same time delivering uncompromising, top-quality care to all her clients and patients.  She deeply appreciates the long-term clients who have shared and supported the clinic’s development and enjoys welcoming those who are newly arrived to make their lives in our special town.  Julia is honoured by the trust that has been given her as the provider of veterinary care to the community of Revelstoke.

Dr. Jackson has strongly pursued and developed a professional interest in small animal dentistry and sees it as a key element in the lifelong care of companion animals. She has time-and-again seen remarkable improvements in the quality of life of dogs and cats resulting from attending to their dental health.

Julia’s family includes Iggy, the current members of a succession of Belgian Shepherds (Tervuren), and horse Zena.

Veronika Kulinova

Veterinarian

Dr. Veronika Kulinova grew up in a farming community in the mountains of Slovakia, riding horses and caring for the farm’s animals while pursuing her passion for mountain sports. She first visited Canada eight years ago and fell in love with Jasper, where she volunteered at the vet clinic. She returned to Slovakia to undertake veterinary studies and spent summers in Jasper. After obtaining her veterinary degree, she moved to Jasper where she attained her North American Veterinary Accreditation and became a Permanent Resident of Canada. During this time Veronika also worked as a horse outfitting guide, doing extended backcountry trips in the Canadian Rockies.

In school, Veronika was especially interested in horses and wildlife. In practice, she enjoys the variety of working with both with horses and companion animals. She has particular interest in ultrasound, surgery, internal medicine, and equine dentistry.

She continues to aspire to travel and volunteer, with Africa high on her wish list. She loves outdoors sports of all kinds, as well as yoga, baking and friends.

Veronika has worked hard to become a fully trained ski patroller and she can often be found at Revelstoke Mountain Resort with her certified avalanche dog, Skoki, the border collie.

Carmen Schneider

Veterinarian

Dr. Carmen Schneider was born in Switzerland and grew up on a working farm, which is where her love for animals began. Her parents were looking to take the family farming business abroad, with potential options in New Zealand. Then in 2005 they were presented with an opportunity to take over a farm, from another Swiss connection, in Dawson Creek, BC. Carmen and her family jumped at the chance and began building a life in Canada, farming cattle and raising horses.

She graduated from the Western College Veterinary Medicine in 2019; all her experiences on the farm motivated her to work in mixed practice for a few years after graduating. Here in Revelstoke she practices in small animal and has a passion for surgery, internal medicine and dentistry. However she does miss the cows!

The accessibility to both summer and winter activities called Carmen and her adventure loving dog, Tonic, to Revelstoke in the summer of 2023. This duo love all things outside, including; snowboarding, backcountry touring, cross-country skiing, hiking, camping and mountain biking.

Carmen has really enjoyed the small town of Revelstoke and becoming part of a community. Working at the Vet Clinic has allowed her to practice high quality medicine, along with building close relationships in community.
